The Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma is looking for volunteers to pack emergency food boxes that were purchased as a result of a $2 million grant. According to the stipulations of the grant, the food must be distributed by September 30. At least 25 volunteers are needed to assemble the boxes per each two-hour shift. Volunteers can choose to work on weekdays from 8 a.m. to noon and from 1 – 3 p.m; Monday through Thursday evenings from 5:30 – 8 p.m. or Saturdays from 9 a.m. – noon and from 1 – 4 p.m. John Sanders, the Food Bank’s Stimulus Emergency Food Program Coordinator, at (918) 585-2800, ext. 145, or jsanders@cfbeo.org.
