The Los Angeles Times reports that a three-year-old girl was set to undergo surgery yesterday for a fractured skull after she was hit in the head and knocked unconscious unconscious Monday night during batting practice at Dodger Stadium. The girl was struck by a line drive off the bat of Dodgers' catcher RUSSELL MARTIN that hit her while she was in the stands, near third base.
She was immediately rushed to a local hospital, where doctors say she should recover. Martin was in tears after the accident, and has reportedly offered to pay the girl's medical bills.

** Sandra Bullock made a surprise appearance at Spike TV's "Guys Choice" event Sunday night. She received the "Troops Choice" Award for Entertainer of The Year. She asked "Did I win this for being entertainer of the year, or did I this because of the spectacular IED (improvised explosive device) explosion that became of my personal life?" Catch the Guys Choice Awards June 20th on Spike TV.

Chatting about a great scene in "Sex and the City 2" this morning where Charlotte and Miranda have "mommy confession time". Yes, they got a little tipsy and started revealing their "mommy sins". Our best answer this morning came from a woman who had several kids staying overnight. She told them they could stay up til 1am, then proceeded to set the clock forward 2 hours!! If you've got a good one to share, send it to carly@kbez.com.
We also revealed this morning that guys are buying Spanx as fast as they can make them!! The T-shirts, tanks and undershirts are good for covering paunches and helping with back pain.

‘Quit Facebook Day’ A Flop
The “Quit Facebook Day” movement started by some users to encourage others to delete their Facebook accounts yesterday didn’t catch on as well as the social networking site. The reason may be because the concept wasn’t known to many, according to a new survey by Vision Critical. The failure of the movement could also have been due to the improved privacy features unveiled by Facebook recently. The survey said only 11% of Facebook users were aware of the movement. Of those, only 22% promised to delete their Facebook accounts. More than 25,000 users allegedly deleted their accounts. The survey also showed that 61% of users are happy with the new privacy features introduced by Facebook.

hot topic people poll:
Did the right contestant win “American Idol?” A national study conducted among 3,901 “Idol” viewers revealed that the contestant who was selected as the winner of the ninth season of the competition did not accurately reflect the viewers’ choice. HCD Research used its www.mediacurves.com Web site to obtain “American Idol” viewers’ perceptions of which contestant should be chosen as the winner. HCD conducted a series of studies using the “one person, one vote” methodology. While Lee DeWyze won the contest, the Idol Democracy study showed DeWyze received 33.8% of the votes, while Crystal Bowersox received 66.2% of the votes. Should “Idol” use the “one person, one vote” method or continue allowing viewers to cast more than one vote?

Mom Gives Birth While Driving To Hospital
A Bemidji, Minnesota, mother gave birth to a baby boy while driving herself to the hospital, with the newborn’s father steering the car from the passenger’s seat. Amanda McBride said she was rushing to the hospital last Wednesday when her water broke and the baby “just slid out.” McBride said she was feeling labor pains at work, so she drove to pick up the baby’s father and headed for the hospital. The father, Joseph Phillips, did not drive because he has a history of seizures. Phillips said McBride yelled at him to take the wheel as she cradled the 8 pound baby boy, Joseph Dominick Phillips.

‘Lost’ Is Gone
The premiere of “Lost” ended memorably with Charlie’s plaintive question to his fellow island castaways. “Guys, where ARE we?” Six seasons and 120 episodes later, many viewers might be wondering the same thing as the “Lost” finale brought the series to a close last night. The Internet was buzzing with questions, comments, commendation and complaints even before the show ended last night. Led by a two-hour retrospective, the show was capped by a two-and-one-half-hour-long finale. But were all of the questions answered on last night’s show? That depends on who you ask.
