The next time you have to go to
work after getting very little sleep, try this little trick I found in the June
issue of Health magazine. Get small
caffeine hits throughout the day. Instead of guzzling a 32 ounce mug of java,
start with a 4 to 6 ounce cup of coffee. That’s about ½ a mug. Then drink another 4 to 6 ounce cup in a few
hours. Studies show the low-dose method
works better to keep you alert when you’re tired. Researchers found that shift
workers and others who work odd hours get a better boost from small cups of
coffee, but also they performed better on cognitive tests.
Another quick tip, this one to
keep you awake during long meetings. Try sipping something cold. Ice water or iced tea are good choices.
